Black Magic Pocket Camera

By | December 23, 2013

Yes, the Black Magic Pocket Camera is in stock.  When they came out they were not able to do RAW CinemaDNF recording, but now with  just a new firmware update, you are able to compress each frame to capture 1080P from the super 16mm sensor. Remember this Pocket Camera is a “Camera” unlike the Canon 5D and Nikon which natively do not do raw Video nor do they have the same dynamic range.. and they are not as cheap. so for under $1000.00 this camera rocks

The unit supports these connections 1 x Control-L (LANC),
1 x Headphones,
1 x Microphone,
1 x HDMI output,
1 x DC power input

with a 3.5 in LCD Screen and DaVinci Resolve Lite software you can shoot very professional  videos.

This diminutive version of the Blackmagic accepts SD cards with the built-in recorder that captures ProRes 422 (HQ) and lossless compressed CinemaDNG files when using fast SDXC cards. When using ProRes, you can record for more than 50 minutes on a 64GB SD card at 24 frames per second. The 10-bit ProRes 422 (HQ) files are above broadcast standards. Unlike the built-in battery of the original Blackmagic, this pocket version has a removeable battery for handy recharging and swapping for already-charger batteries. An added bonus for this camera is its 1/4″-20 UNC-threaded mounting point on the top and bottom of its body, which allows for convenient support configurations.
