Universal Audio Console

The video above shows the new Universal Audio Console, the Apollo Console 2.0. The Apollo interface gives you classic analog sound in digital format. While this interface was first introduced in 2012, it has continued to evolve into an award-winning console. The latest version provides operation through Thunderbolt, new plugins and 25 brand new, user-requested features.

What does this mean for you?

Here’s what Console 2.0, the re-imagining of the original Universal Audio Console software:

  • New high resolution / Retina-compatible 64-bit software interface for Apollo Thunderbolt systems
  • Channel Strip presets so you can see signal chain in one window – save and recall favorite UAD plugins
  • Monitoring improvements including ALT Monitors, Control Room and CUE/HP management
  • Over 25 user-requested features, including
    • Plugin categories and individual Show/Hide
    • Drag and Drop plugins for quick assignment
    • New plugin preset auditioning
    • Per-channel Rec/Mon effects switches
    • Multi-level Undo and Redo
    • Dynamically resizable, independent windows
    • Show/Hide channel strips, devices and more

If you have the Apollo suite that’s comprised of the Apollo Twin, Apollo DUO, Apollo QUAD and Apollo 16, you can now use six total UAD-2 devices to add I/O expandability and digital signal processing.

Apollo Expanded gives those with Thunderbolt connectivity the following:

  • Simple Thunderbolt cable cascading between units
  • Powerfull new Flex Driver allowing users to configure Core Audio I/O – name, save and share presets for different hardware and DAWs
  • Star clocking over Thunderbolt, distributing high-quality clock to all Apollos
  • The ability to add an Apollo Twin for desktop monitor control and additional DSP and connectivity
