Yamaha’s new Lake processing Card!! New release special

By | November 14, 2011

Lake Processing has become a standard for loudspeaker processing in live sound applications. A technological tie-up between Yamaha and Lab.gruppen now makes that same top-tier sound tailoring capability directly accessible via Yamaha digital mixing consoles.

Shizuoka, Japan (November 14th, 2011) – The MY8-LAKE implements advanced Lake Processing technology including Mesa EQ, Ideal Graphic EQ, linear-phase crossover, and other intuitive sonic tuning features in a DSP expansion card designed specifically for Yamaha digital mixing consoles. The processing power packed into this compact card is astounding, offering up to 8 inputs/8 outputs in Mesa mode (system EQ), 4 inputs/12 outputs in Contour mode (crossover), or combinations of the above to suit the application. Flexible I/O configuration via the console’s insert points as well as the card’s AES/EBU connectors, plus the ability to run at 96, 88.2, 48, or 44.1 kHz, makes it easy to integrate Lake Processing into any system. Lake Controller software installed on a compatible Windows PC allows precision control of the MY8-LAKE as well as other Lake devices in the system, while close compatibility with Smaart sound system measurement software contributes to smooth, efficient speaker system tuning. Add access to over 1,000 speaker presets and you’re ready to tweak any system for optimum performance in any environment.

Kazunori Kobayashi, General Manager of Yamaha’s Pro Audio Division states, “We have worked hard to provide Yamaha digital console users with advanced solutions via Mini-*YGDAI expansion cards. And now, through close cooperation with Lake, we are ready to offer the MY8-LAKE with leading-edge Lake processing capabilities that will add unprecedented sonic potential and broader appeal to Yamaha digital mixers. We are proud and pleased to be able to introduce this product as the centerpiece of a new system solution for live sound applications throughout the world.” *YGDAI = Yamaha General Digital Audio Interface

“We are delighted to be able to provide Lake Processing as an integrated part of Yamaha mixers, and excited by the potential of this product partnership with Yamaha to deliver the unique benefits of Lake Processing technology to a wider customer base. It further reinforces Lake’s credentials as a leader in digital audio processing and provides significant flexibility and benefits to both our existing users and those looking to integrate Lake into their systems.” says Jon Alkhagen, Managing Director of Lab.gruppen and Lake.

Pricing to be announced. Release scheduled for spring 2012.
