Looking for a High-end Studio Monitor? There are so many to choose from, but were going to talk about the Meyer Amie Studio Monitor .  Yes, we listened to many other high-end studio monitors from Genelec 6.5 inch monitors to the Genelec 8531 8 inch woofer monitors as well as other manufactures. Just incase you dont know Meyer Sound is a very high end speaker manufacture here in the USA. They have been around since 1979 and probably one of the most sought after speaker manufactures out there.

Lets talk about the Meyer AMie Studio Monitors specs.

Amie Total is a 6.5‑inch long‑excursion cone driver; 4 Ω nominal impedance and a One 1‑inch dome tweeter on a constant‑directivity waveguide with a total output of a  900 watts.  The Genelec 8531B is a 8 inch three way speaker with a total of 550 watts.  While specifications are helpful, keep in mind that the tests that determine specs often are not standardized, so one manufacturer’s 0.01% THD may be another’s 0.3% THD. The information is still useful to you as a prospective buyer as long as you recognize that specs are just a starting point. Ultimately the actual sound coming out of the box is whats important. THD  < 0.02%

Also remember the power handling of the system is going to have a big effect on the overall sound, and not just in terms of volume. It also determines your dynamic range, the amount of headroom you have before signals peak. Higher wattage means you’ll be able to hear more transient detail, and you’ll be better able to make precise adjustments to compressors, limiters, and gates. The AMIE monitors at 900 watts is pretty much a no brainer as studio monitors are designed to reproduce audio signals that are as flat as possible across the audible frequency spectrum which they both accomplished that but the AMIE Monitors shines and stood out in the room.

Meyer sound does have the Subwoofer companion for the Meyer AMIE. The Subwoofer is called the AMIE-Sub

Amie-Sub compact subwoofer offers outstanding sonic characteristics, such as clean, punchy transients and excellent phase coherence with impressive low-frequencies down to 22 Hz in a compact cabinet. The Amie-Sub was specifically designed to be the perfect companion for Amie precision monitors—creating a complete system by extending the system frequency response down to the lower limit of the audible range with easy integration in multi-channel configurations.

The Amie-Sub has an operating frequency range of 22–160 Hz and a linear peak SPL of 124.5 dB with crest factor >11.5 dB, measured in half-space at 4 m and referred to 1 m using M-noise. The Amie-Sub includes a single 15-inch, low distortion, long-excursion cone driver. The bass reflex cabinet employs optimized port design for high efficiency and low port distortion. Its slanted connector panel facilitates flush-mounting the cabinet against wall surfaces, reducing required installation depth to 19 inches including connectors.

Pretty much thisis one of the most powerfull Studio monitor systems out there

The Meyers AMIE list at $4280.00 and the AMIE-SUB List price is $5620.00
